Jam vs Dash in one paragraph
Both platforms are real digital asset libraries with AI search and tagging — the difference is scope. Dash is the honest SMB/ecommerce DAM: published tiers, unlimited users, all features unlocked from day one, and pricing metered by downloads and storage. Dash can collect files through guest upload links, but the research found no rights capture at submission and no native social publishing — its social path is a Hootsuite hand-off through Zapier. Jam covers the workflow around the library too: collect content with usage rights granted at submission, then publish natively to 7 social platforms at a flat published price from US$99 per month.

How much does Dash cost?
Dash publishes its pricing. Its pricing page (seen July 2026) lists four tiers in GBP: Start up at £79/month, Small team at £179, Growing brand at £299 and Established brand at £449. All include unlimited users and all features. The meters are downloads/month and storage instead.
| Dash tier | Published price (GBP/month) |
|---|---|
| Start up | £79 (about US$109), 250 downloads, 10 GB |
| Small team | £179, 500 downloads, 50 GB |
| Growing brand | £299, 1,000 downloads, 100 GB |
| Established brand | £449, unlimited downloads, 200 GB–50 TB |
| Jam, for comparison | US$99/month Standard or US$299/month Growth, flat and published — your whole team included. See full pricing |
Dash offers 10% savings on annual billing, no long-term contract and 30 days' notice. Free migration and a 10% non-profit discount are also listed. The Start up tier's 250-download monthly cap is the important value distinction: Jam has no download meter.
To be fair: Dash reviews well. On GetApp/Capterra (seen July 2026) it scores 4.8/5 across 92 reviews, with 4.8 for ease of use and 4.9 for support. Dash is not the problem. The question is whether you need a DAM that stores and shares files, or a flat-priced platform that also collects content with rights and publishes it. We don't charge per seat. We don't need to.
Storing content is half the job
Dash is genuinely strong at the library layer: tagging, metadata, full-text and AI image search, collections, approval workflows, role-based permissions and branded portals. It also has a Shopify and WooCommerce path, which makes it a sensible choice for an ecommerce team that mainly needs to store, organise and share files.
The scope gap appears when the job is bigger than a file drop. Dash has guest upload links, so saying it cannot collect UGC would be wrong. The accurate distinction is files versus files-plus-rights: the research found no consent or usage-rights capture at Dash submission. Dash also has no native social publishing; its listed route is a Hootsuite hand-off through Zapier. Jam collects usage rights at submission and publishes natively to 7 platforms from the same library.
One search clarification: Dash on dash.app is not Dash Social, formerly Dash Hudson. They are different products.

Verdict: which should you choose?
Choose Dash if…
You want a straightforward DAM with published tiers, unlimited users, all features available from day one, strong ease-of-use and support reviews, free migration, and Shopify or WooCommerce paths. Dash is a good fit when storing and sharing files is the core job and a download/storage meter is acceptable.
Choose Jam if…
Your content gets collected and published, not just stored: usage rights granted at submission, an AI-organised library, and native publishing to 7 platforms — at a flat published price your whole team shares. Jam runs at real scale too: The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride collected 80,000+ assets from 100 countries into one Jam library, and enterprise plans come with a dedicated account manager.

How much does Dash cost?
Dash publishes its pricing. The Start up tier is £79/month (about US$109/month), Small team is £179, Growing brand is £299 and Established brand is £449. Every tier has unlimited users; Dash meters downloads and storage instead. Jam publishes US$99/month Standard, US$299/month Growth and custom Enterprise pricing.

Does Dash publish to social media?
Dash has no native social publishing or scheduling. Its only social path is handing assets to Hootsuite through a Zapier integration — Dash supplies the image, Hootsuite does the posting (dash.app integrations page, July 2026). Jam publishes natively to 7 platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Pinterest) from the same library the assets live in.
Does Dash collect UGC?
Yes — Dash has guest upload links for collecting files from photographers and creators. The difference is what happens at submission: the research found no usage-rights or consent capture in Dash’s upload flow, while Jam collects the file and the usage rights granted at submission.
Dash vs Dash Social — are they the same thing?
No. Dash (dash.app, by Bright / Dash for Brands) is the digital asset management product compared here. Dash Social, formerly Dash Hudson, is a different enterprise social product. The names collide in search, but they are not the same platform.

Dash is a good fit if you want a straightforward DAM with Shopify and WooCommerce paths, unlimited users and published pricing. Jam is the broader content workflow when you also need to collect customer content with rights at submission and publish natively to 7 social platforms from the same library.
