Hootsuite costs US$99 per user per month for Standard, US$199 for Professional and US$399 for Advanced, billed annually, with Enterprise priced by quote (hootsuite.com/plans FAQ, checked October 2026). There is no free plan, only a 14-day free trial. Because Hootsuite charges per user, a five-person team on Standard pays about US$495 a month.
The short answer
- Hootsuite is priced per user. Standard US$99, Professional US$199, Advanced US$399 per user per month, billed annually (October 2026). Enterprise is custom.
- Standard covers up to 10 social accounts. Professional and above include unlimited social accounts.
- There is no free plan. Hootsuite dropped it on March 31, 2023. You get a 14-day free trial with no credit card.
- Monthly billing costs more per user than annual, but Hootsuite does not publish the monthly rates on its plans page.
- For 10 users, Hootsuite costs US$990 to US$3,990 a month depending on the plan.
Hootsuite plans and prices (October 2026)
Hootsuite's plan cards render without visible prices, so these figures come from the pricing FAQ and structured data on hootsuite.com/plans, checked October 26, 2026. All prices are in US dollars, per user per month, billed annually, excluding tax.
| Plan | Price (annual billing) | Social accounts | Users | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | US$99/user/month | Up to 10 | 1+ (buy as many seats as needed) | Unlimited scheduled posts, AI post and image generation, unified inbox, analytics, competitor benchmarking (5 competitors), social listening |
| Professional | US$199/user/month | Unlimited | 1+ | Inbox automation and DM workflows, AI smart replies, custom and scheduled reports, 30-day Quick Search, 90-day trend forecasting, benchmarking against up to 20 competitors |
| Advanced | US$399/user/month | Unlimited | 1+ | Content approval workflows, message assignment and skill-based routing, customer satisfaction surveys, team productivity reporting, branded report exports |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Unlimited | Custom | SSO, custom compliance, advanced listening with 13 months of history, social attribution and ROI reporting, Salesforce integration, employee advocacy (Parliament), expert onboarding and training |
Hootsuite's FAQ phrases the Advanced price as "range up to $399", and its structured data lists Advanced at US$399 billed annually. Hootsuite also notes that some features are only available with multiple user seats.
How Hootsuite billing works
- Per user. "Hootsuite plans are sold per user (or 'seat')," according to its FAQ. Every teammate who logs in needs a seat.
- Annual or monthly. Standard, Professional and Advanced can be billed monthly or annually. Annual billing gives a lower per-user rate. Enterprise is billed annually and can be invoiced.
- Payment. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, JCB and PayPal. Enterprise invoices can be paid by card, cheque, wire or ACH.
- Nonprofits. Hootsuite offers a discounted rate for nonprofits on some plans, by application.
Does Hootsuite have a free plan?
No. Hootsuite ended its free plan on March 31, 2023, and existing free users had to move to a paid plan or stop using the service (Canadian Press, February 2023). The current plans page lists only Standard, Professional, Advanced and Enterprise.
What remains is a 14-day free trial:
- No credit card required, and you are not charged automatically when it ends.
- Trial accounts are limited to 10–20 posts per organisation per day, depending on the plan.
- Bulk scheduling is not available during the trial.
If you need a permanent free plan, Buffer and Metricool both still offer one (see alternatives below).
What Hootsuite costs at 1, 5 and 10 users
Monthly cost at list price on annual billing, before tax (October 2026):
| Users | Standard (US$99) | Professional (US$199) | Advanced (US$399) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | US$99 | US$199 | US$399 |
| 5 | US$495 | US$995 | US$1,995 |
| 10 | US$990 | US$1,990 | US$3,990 |
Monthly cost for a 10-person team on Hootsuite
- AdvancedUS$3,990
- ProfessionalUS$1,990
- StandardUS$990
- Jam Growth (flat, no seats)US$299
Per year, that is US$1,188 for one Standard user, US$5,940 for five and US$11,880 for ten. Ten users on Professional cost US$23,880 a year, and ten on Advanced cost US$47,880. Monthly billing would be higher.
The jump that catches teams out is between Standard and Professional. Standard's 10-account limit sounds generous, but a brand with a few regional pages, or an agency managing several clients, passes it quickly, and the move to Professional doubles the per-user price for everyone on the team.
Hootsuite for small teams vs enterprise
For a solo marketer or small team, Standard at US$99 a month covers scheduling, a shared inbox, basic listening and up to 10 accounts. That is reasonable for one person, but it is more than several dedicated scheduling tools charge.
For larger teams, approval workflows only arrive on Advanced at US$399 per user, so a team that needs sign-off on posts pays four times the Standard rate for every seat. Enterprise adds SSO, advanced listening, attribution and employee advocacy, and is priced by quote.
Is Hootsuite worth it?
Hootsuite is worth it when:
- One to a few people manage many social accounts and want scheduling, a unified inbox, analytics and basic listening in one place.
- You need customer care tooling such as inbox automation, routing and satisfaction surveys, which are strong on Professional and Advanced.
- You want an established vendor with enterprise options like SSO and Salesforce integration available when you grow.
Hootsuite is hard to justify when:
- Lots of people need access but only a few publish. Each of them is a full seat.
- You mainly schedule posts. Buffer, Metricool and Later do that for a fraction of the price.
- You also need to store, find and collect photos and video. Hootsuite is a social media manager, not an asset library.
Hidden costs to budget for
- Every user is a seat. Approvers, executives and agency partners who only need occasional access still cost a full seat. Our guide to per-seat vs usage-based pricing shows how this grows with team size.
- Approvals are an Advanced feature. If your workflow needs content approvals, budget for US$399 per user, not US$99.
- The account cap on Standard. More than 10 social accounts means Professional.
- Enterprise-only features. SSO, advanced listening, attribution and the Salesforce integration sit on Enterprise, which has no published price.
- Monthly billing. It costs more per user than annual, and the monthly rates are not on the plans page, so ask for them before you commit.
