Sprout Social costs US$79 to US$399 per seat per month on annual billing (Essentials, Standard, Professional and Advanced), or US$99 to US$499 per seat on monthly billing, with Enterprise quoted separately (sproutsocial.com/pricing, checked October 2026). Because every plan is priced per seat, the real cost depends on how many people need to log in, plus any add-ons, and those add-on prices are not published.

The short answer

  1. Sprout Social is priced per seat. Essentials US$79, Standard US$199, Professional US$299, Advanced US$399 per seat per month, billed annually (October 2026).
  2. Monthly billing costs 20–25% more: US$99, US$249, US$399 and US$499 per seat.
  3. Premium Analytics, Listening, Employee Advocacy and Professional Services are unpublished add-ons, available on Standard and above by quote.
  4. A 10-person team on Professional pays about US$2,990 a month (US$35,880 a year) before add-ons.
  5. There is no free plan. You get a 30-day free trial with no credit card.

Sprout Social plans and prices (October 2026)

All prices are per seat per month in US dollars, taken from sproutsocial.com/pricing and its billing FAQ on October 26, 2026.

Every plan includes 100 Trellis AI credits per seat each month and the iOS and Android app. Essentials includes no brand keyword monitoring; Standard and Professional include 10 brand keywords per group and Advanced includes 20.

Annual billing is paid upfront for the whole term. Sprout's FAQ says month-to-month terms cost more per month in exchange for a shorter commitment.

What each plan adds

  • Essentials is the entry plan for a social media manager who mainly publishes. It covers 5 social profiles, scheduling and post-level reporting; Sprout lists the consolidated inbox and collaboration tools from Standard up.
  • Standard is where Sprout becomes a team tool: the shared inbox, collaboration, monitoring and reviews. It is also the minimum plan for every add-on. It still caps you at 5 social profiles.
  • Professional removes the profile cap and adds the competitive and paid reporting most marketing teams want. Sprout labels it the most popular plan.
  • Advanced is aimed at customer care and cross-functional teams that need sentiment, helpdesk integrations and the API.
  • Enterprise is a quote, and mostly adds onboarding, SSO and support on top of Advanced.

Add-ons Sprout does not publish prices for

The plan price is rarely the full bill. Sprout lists these add-ons on its pricing page without prices:

What buyers actually pay after negotiation varies. Vendr reports a median Sprout Social contract of US$18,980 a year across 362 purchases, with a range of about US$6,295 to US$54,958 and average savings of 14% off list (vendr.com/marketplace/sprout-social, last updated February 2026).

Hidden costs to budget for

  1. Every person is a seat. Approvers, designers, executives and agency partners who need access each cost the full plan rate. This is the biggest driver of Sprout bills. Our guide to per-seat vs usage-based pricing shows how fast it compounds.
  2. Listening and Premium Analytics are extra. Many teams buy Sprout for its reporting and listening, then find the deeper versions are separately quoted add-ons.
  3. The 5-profile cap on Essentials and Standard. A brand with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and YouTube already needs Professional, which raises the per-seat price by US$100.
  4. Monthly billing premium. Staying flexible costs 20–25% more per seat.
  5. Onboarding and services. White-glove onboarding is part of Enterprise; on lower plans, Professional Services is a separate purchase.

Is Sprout Social worth it?

Sprout is worth it when:

  • A small, dedicated social team (one to five people) spends its day in the inbox, answering customers and reporting to leadership.
  • You need customer care features such as sentiment, helpdesk integrations and spike alerts, which are Sprout's strengths on Advanced.
  • Budget is not the main constraint and you value polished reporting.

Sprout is hard to justify when:

  • Many people need access but only a few publish. Per-seat pricing charges the same for someone who approves one post a month as for your full-time social manager.
  • You mainly need scheduling and basic reporting. Cheaper tools cover that well.
  • You also need a place to store, find and collect content. Sprout is a social media manager, not an asset library.

Sprout Social for small teams vs enterprise

For small teams, Essentials at US$79 per seat is the cheapest way in, but its 5-profile cap, and the inbox and collaboration tools being listed from Standard up, push most growing teams to Standard or Professional quickly. A two-person team on Professional pays US$598 a month on annual billing.

For enterprise, the published per-seat prices are only the starting point. Expect a custom quote that bundles seats, Listening, Premium Analytics and services, and negotiate: Vendr's data shows buyers saving 14% on average.

If per-seat pricing is the problem, or you also need to collect and organise photos and video, Jam is a third option. It combines an AI-organised asset library, UGC collection with usage rights captured at submission, and native publishing to 7 platforms, and it never charges per seat. Common questions

How much does Sprout Social cost?

Sprout Social costs US$79, US$199, US$299 or US$399 per seat per month on annual billing for its Essentials, Standard, Professional and Advanced plans (sproutsocial.com/pricing, October 2026). Month-to-month billing costs US$99, US$249, US$399 or US$499 per seat. Enterprise is a custom quote.

How much does Sprout Social cost per user?

Sprout charges per seat, so every user is billed at the full plan rate. On Standard that is US$199 per user per month billed annually, or US$249 billed monthly. A 10-person team on Standard pays about US$1,990 a month, or US$23,880 a year, before add-ons.

Is Sprout Social worth it?

Sprout is worth it for a small team that lives in the social inbox and needs strong reporting, customer care and listening, and has the budget for it. It is hard to justify for large teams where most people only need to view, approve or grab content, because each of them costs a full seat. Teams on a tight budget usually get more value from a cheaper per-channel or flat-priced tool.

Does Sprout Social have a free plan or free trial?

Sprout Social has no free plan. It offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required, and you can switch plans during the trial. When the trial ends you pick a plan and enter payment details to keep using it.

What add-ons does Sprout Social charge extra for?

Premium Analytics, Listening, Employee Advocacy and Professional Services are add-ons on Standard and above, and Sprout does not publish their prices; you get a quote through a demo. Trellis Plus, the extended AI tier, is published at US$28 per user per month on annual billing or US$35 monthly.

What do companies actually pay for Sprout Social?

Vendr reports a median of US$18,980 a year across 362 Sprout Social purchases, with a range of roughly US$6,295 to US$54,958 and average negotiated savings of 14% (vendr.com, last updated February 2026). Larger contracts usually include more seats and add-ons.
